In theory, summer is almost here (but who even knows with the UK’s weather any more!) which means more time being outside, more cocktails, barbecues and family fun – and less time spent working. Whether you’re wanting to jet off to far-flung islands, or just step back from work for a bit over the six weeks of school holidays, the time to be getting ready for this is now. In today’s episode, we’re bringing you the first episode of a two-partner sharing our top tips for a reduced summer workload with ease.

Having the conversation with your clients about time off can feel difficult, but everyone is entitled to time off and a bit of a break, just like employees are. If you’re worried about starting these discussions, come back next week where we’re diving into all things client-related. Today, however, we’re talking all about the logistics of getting your content planners in order so you can step back without everything going to pot. And, a key takeaway here is to never forget to schedule something for after you get back – so you aren’t left scrambling to get a post together on your first day at your desk!

Planning and organisation are two skills that will serve you well as a social media manager, so start getting prepped for the summer now so you aren’t left having to make 45 extra posts in a week for all your clients so you can actually take a breath on your time off and not feel afraid of leaving your laptop behind. Hit that play button to learn what we’ve done for years to take time off when we want to!

In this episode, we’re chatting about:

  • How you can start getting ahead today so you can take time off over the summer
  • Working out what you need from your clients and what sort of content you can put out while you’re away
  • Being aware of what you’re posting on your own account so you don’t frighten your clients
  • Using templates and outsourcing to help you stay ahead of the game
